Who We Are

Adventure Kids is the children’s ministry of LIFE Adelaide. Our program runs at each of our Sunday services and caters for children from 1 year old through to Grade 5 at school. Our goal at Adventure Kids is for every child to have tons of FUN as they connect with God and build friendships with one another! We do this by creating environments that are age-specific, catering to the developmental needs of kids so that they can engage in worship, hear a bible-based message and partake in activities that emphasis this month’s ‘Bottom Line’. Our dream is getting to partner with you as parents to raise a generation that passionately LOVE God, LOVE Church and LOVE others.

Cubby House

(Preschool: 1-4 year olds)

Aged 1 to 4 years. In our Cubby House rooms, our songs and stories, memory verses, crafts and activities are all designed to reinforce that ‘God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever’; three important messages that are the best foundation for all our kids.

Base Camp

(Primary School: Reception – Grade 5)

What an adventure the school years are! Every Sunday morning, our school aged kids get to be involved in engaging praise and worship, hear bible stories and relevant object lessons and play fun interactive games. We also break into small groups based on school year, where kids can have fun, explore the bible and build strong and lasting friendships.

What To Expect

We always love meeting new friends here at Adventure Kids! When you arrive one of our connection team will greet you at the door and direct you towards our Adventure Kids check-in area. Look for the team in bright blue – you can’t miss them!

Whether you’re looking to call LIFE home, or are just visiting for the day our team will ask for you to provide us with some basic information. Things like your contact number, allergies and any special needs are super important for us to know so that we can care for your family to the best of our ability.

Once your details have been entered into our system our team will print 2 stickers – a name label for your child and a parent pick-up label for you. Make sure you keep your parent label on you as you’ll need to hand it to our team at the end of the service for your child to be released back into your care.

Once all the paperwork is complete our team will show you to your child’s room and introduce you to the room leader (Cubby House kids) or KCG leader (Explorers) that will be looking after your child.

FAQs

Our Adventure Kids Programs cater for babies from the age of 1, or when they start actively crawling and can be cared for by our team. For younger babies we have a beautifully furnished Parents Room, conveniently located between the auditorium and the restrooms with baby changing facilities. This space has a live feed of the service running at all times, feeding booth for breastfeeding mums, microwave facilities and a host who is there to help.

Safety of our children is a major priority. All leaders are required to obtain a Working with Children Check from the Department of Health Services Australia, have completed LIFE Adelaide’s Safe Environments Training and be able to provide personal references to ensure they are suitable to be working with children. Our leaders also receive ongoing training in relation to safety procedures concerning children. Our Adventure Kids team are all immensely passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of kids and helping connect them with Jesus. One of the greatest privileges for us as leaders at Adventure Kids is helping children respond to God’s great love for them.

In the unlikely event that your child requires your attention during the service (nappy change etc.) our check-in team will send you an SMS on the number you provide us with letting you know which child requires your attention and which room they are in.

We like to plan our program so that all activities are finished by the completion of the service, so please remember to sign your child out of their room as soon as possible. With our check in system, collecting your child is safe and simple, please bring your parent pick-up label with you to the room and give it to the room leader. If you would like someone else to collect your child for you ensure that they have the sticker, however children will not be released from Adventure Kids to anyone under 16 years of age.

If your child is unwell (ie: has a persistent cough/runny nose or temperature and/or has had diarrhoea in the last twenty four hours) we ask that you do not bring them into our program, so that we can prevent the illness from spreading to the other children and volunteers.

Would you like to be part of the Adventure Kids team? Our team is run almost entirely by volunteers and we are always on the look-out for more people to join with us in building the church. If you want to invest into the next generation and would like to volunteer either on Sundays or mid-week please email us at adventurekids@lifeadelaide.org.

Please note: as part of our child protection policy and to ensure the safety of our kids we are required to complete reference checks and a working with children’s check on anyone who serves as part of the Adventure Kids team.
